An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Engineering Lecturer to join a growing Engineering department in Stevenage. This role is ideal for someone with strong industry experience who wants to inspire the next generation of engineers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high‑quality teaching across Engineering programmes (Levels 1–3)

  • Teach both theory and practical sessions in areas such as Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing or General Engineering

  • Support apprentices and full‑time learners with coursework, assessments and portfolio development

  • Maintain workshop safety, equipment checks and compliance with health & safety regulations

  • Contribute to curriculum development aligned with industry standards and emerging technologies

  • Provide academic and pastoral support to ensure learner success

  • Build strong relationships with employers, apprentices and internal teams

Essential Requirements

  • Strong engineering background (Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing or related discipline)

  • Relevant qualifications (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent)

  • Ability to deliver both practical and theory‑based learning

  • Strong understanding of industry standards, safety protocols and engineering processes

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

Desirable

  • Teaching or assessing qualifications (AET, PGCE, TAQA, etc.)

  • Experience delivering BTEC, City & Guilds or apprenticeship standards

  • Experience in CNC, CAD, PLCs or other specialist areas
